At Beacon dentalcare our team of highly trained professionals think its important that you can get to know us so that you feel totally at home. 

We are proud of our staff and always keen to improve on our patient care by attending courses that keep us up to date with all the latest techniques.

Both our dentists are enroled in a postgraduate masters program and we are proud to be working towards the prestigious Investors in People award, and the BDA Good Practice award

Dr David Watson

I qualified in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1992, and have been living and working in Malvern since 1994. I am currently undertaking a Postgraduate Masters Program through Bristol University, and I am a regular fixture at local dental meetings and seminars. I have special interests in Cosmetic Dentistry and Endodontics. I am currently a member of several prestigious organisations including: British Dental Association British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Gloucestershire Independent Dentists Group Outside Dentistry I have 3 young children to keep me busy and a passion for Mountain Biking and Squash!

Dr Karen Sutton

I am currently taking a postgraduate diploma through Bristol University, leading to a masters degree, and was recently awarded the prestigious Marsh Midda prize for periodontology. I am very interested in gum health and helping people who are nervous about the dentist overcome their fears. I am always thrilled to treat children of all ages. I am trained in the use of acupuncture for dental procedures and belong to the British Dental Association, Faculty of General Dental Practitioners of the Royal College of Surgeons and the British Periodontal Society. Outside dentistry I am interested in local history and am part of the Jenny Pipes Morris dancing side, so you may see me out and about! My two children manage to occupy the rest of my time!

Kelly Skinner

dental therapist/ hygeinist

Originally from leicester I now live in Birmingham. I commenced my career in dentistry in 1990 as a dental nurse shortly after leaving school. In 1998 I qualifed from Birmingham Dental School as a Dental Hygeinist. I worked in both NHS and private practices all over the midlands, also working in the specialist Periodontal Department at Birmingham Dental Hospital and at a specialist implant practice in Leicester. In 2002 I spent a year backpacking around Australia where I was able to work as a dental nurse in Perth, Cairns and Syndey. In 2003 I decided to further my training and studied for the Diploma in Dental Therapy at Liverpool Dental School which I passed with distinction in 2006. My therapy skills allow me to carry out fillings on both adults and children and to extract baby teeth. I am really looking forward to being able to develop and enhance these skills at Beacon DentalCare. In my spare time I keep fit by weight training and running and completed my first half marathon in October 2007. I adore travelling and would like to see a s much of the world as possible.

Christine Smith

I have lived in Malvern as a qualified Dental Nurse for 28 years. In that time I have also become qualified as an Oral Health Educator and Practice Manager. For the last five years I have been a fully qualified NVQ Assessor, helping new nurses achieve the legal requirements of the profession. I will continue to be involved in providing high quality in-house training for nurses at Beacon DentalCare to ensure our patients get the best quality treatment and service at all levels. I enjoy walking on the hills and meeting new people, and will be doing my bit to reduce the carbon footprint of the practice by walking to work!

I have worked in the dental profession for around 27 years in both general practice and for the PCT. I have lived in Malvern for 5 years having relocated from Essex. I am delighted to be working at Beacon DentalCare with a team of enthusiastic, lively and dedicated professionals. In my spare time I enjoy walking the beautiful hills and practicing yoga as well as visiting the theatre.

Gemma Wingfield

I am 21 years old, I am training to be a dental nurse and have been attending college as part of an NVQ levels 2 and 3 since Septmeber 2007. I have been working in dental practice for 18 months. My husband and I enjoy walking our Staffordshire Bull Terrier Stella on the Malvern Hills and socialising on weekends.

I have lived in Malvern for most of my life, and am married with two grown up children. I have worked in the hospitality industry and in customer care. I started at Beacon DentalCare in March 2008 and have found myself to be working with enthusiastic and friendly colleagues.
