Dental implant website
We have a separate website dedicated to dental implant information. It can be found at Dental Implants at Church Road Dental Practice.
Replacing missing teeth
Implants provide a very flexible way of treating missing teeth and so can be used in many situations. However their suitability for any given situation must be assessed on an individual basis.
At an implant consultation your mouth would be examined and appropriate x rays, models and photographs taken. If implants were appropriate a full treatment plan would be developed together with an estimate of the costs of providing the treatment. The cost of a full implant consultation is £95.00 to include models, x-rays and written treatment plan and estimate. Where appropriate a further appointment is arranged to review the treatment plan at no extra charge. Please contact the practice to arrange this.
What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are small titanium fixtures which serve to replace the roots of missing teeth.
The implants bond with the bone of the jaw and act as an anchor on which a replacement tooth can be fixed.
Implants can be used for a wide range of treatment from one implant to replace one missing tooth through to implants to replace all the teeth in the mouth. They can also be used to stabilise a denture. The implants used at the practice are the Nobel Biocare systems of Brånemark® and Replace® implants backed by over 40 years of research and development.

In addition he is registered with the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Oral Surgery and has undertaken extensive further training in restorative dentistry. Thus all the treatment you require for dental implants can be carried out at the practice. He is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology.
What are the advantages of dental implants?
Dental implants have many advantages and these depend on your situation.
When teeth are lost the bone that held them there will disappear.
Implants can preserve this bone so maintaining structure.
They can be an alternative to bridges where surrounding teeth would have to be prepared.
For patients with dentures implants provided better function, comfort and confidence. Implants can be used at the time teeth are lost or many years later.

Mini implants
Mini implants are smaller than regular implants and can be used in situations where bone is limited to stabilise dentures. The cost of this type of implant is less than standard implants.
Cost and Payment
The cost of implant treatment depends on the number of implants and the complexity of treatment. After a full examination a detailed estimate of costs is always provided. We are also able to arrange financial packages so that the cost can be spread over a number of years. Although the cost of implant treatment is high the benefits to patients are great and this makes it worthwhile. In the long term implants will often prove to be the more cost effective solution to missing teeth and a worthwhile investment.
