  New Patient Consultations

Your initial consultation appointment will be 30 minutes long. The fee for this will be £35.

When you arrive you will be welcomed by one of our reception staff and given a confidential medical questionnaire to fill in to ensure that you are looked after safely.

During your consultation we will LISTEN, LOOK, DISCUSS.

LISTEN to your reasons for coming to see us.

  • Are you in pain
  • Are you anxious about dental treatment
  • Are you wondering how your teeth will be in 10,20,30 years time
  • Have you had previous dental problems
  • Would you like your teeth to look more attractive when you smile

LOOK

DISCUSS
After the examination we talk about dental care on 5 levels.

Level 1 Do we have to do anything today? For example:
  • place a temporary dressing if a filling has come out
  • smooth a tooth that is rubbing your tongue
  • prescribe an antibiotic if an infection is present
Level 2 Discuss a treatment plan for this course of treatment - whatever is needed to restore you mouth to a high standard of health.
Level 3 Discuss dental care which may be necessary in the future. There may be signs of wearing or discolouring fillings, crowns beginning to lose their fit or showing black lines. There may be gaps which could be restored with bridgework or implants, or teeth that are wearing down.
Level 4 Ongoing maintenance
This is how frequently you should have examinations, hygienist appointments and x-rays to keep your mouth as healthy as possible.
Level 5 Appearance
As dentists we are spending more and more time responding to our patients requests to improve their smile. Our patients no longer have to avoid smiling on photographs, or cover their mouth when smiling. Teeth can now be whiter and more even, giving you a more confident smile, often without any tooth destruction or drilling at all.
